Foundation Restoration

With a 2004 Heritage Trust Fund grant from the Kansas State Historical Society, the Marion Township Hall now has a stable foundation. The original stone foundation had deteriorated to a point that it no longer provided a stable support for the wood framed building. The below-grade stones were fractured from freeze/thaw cycles and were replaced with a new concrete grade beam. Above-grade stones were relayed to maintain the original appearance and deteriorated sills/joists were replaced.

Wood Siding Restoration

A 2006 HTF grant aided in the restoration of the original wood lap siding of the building. Other future projects include window restoration, interior restoration, and mechanical/electrical system upgrades.
