| Marion Township HallClient: Glacial Hills RC&D Location: Baileyville, KS Use: Meeting Hall (original Grange Hall) Size: 1,840 s.f. Completion: 2005 & 2006 Foundation RestorationWith a 2004 Heritage Trust Fund grant from the Kansas State Historical Society, the Marion Township Hall now has a stable foundation. The original stone foundation had deteriorated to a point that it no longer provided a stable support for the wood framed building. The below-grade stones were fractured from freeze/thaw cycles and were replaced with a new concrete grade beam. Above-grade stones were relayed to maintain the original appearance and deteriorated sills/joists were replaced. Wood Siding RestorationA 2006 HTF grant aided in the restoration of the original wood lap siding of the building. Other future projects include window restoration, interior restoration, and mechanical/electrical system upgrades. |
